Pop’s Reflection Mahjong Mat

Created with love, meaning, and purpose, Pop’s Reflection brings a peaceful lake-and-mountain landscape to your mahjong table. This special 33" square mat honors Mahjong by SI founder Stacie’s father, Larry, lovingly known as Pop by his grandchildren.

The design was inspired by the lake at Ramah Darom, where Pop spent 20 summers working at a Jewish summer camp that holds deep meaning for him and his family. Golden mountains rise above calm blue water, surrounded by layered trees, soft reflections, and a quiet sky that feels peaceful, hopeful, and deeply personal.

This mat is part of a meaningful collaboration between Mahjong by SI, Bird Bam Cheer, and Mahj for a Cause. In honor of Pop’s journey with Parkinson’s disease, Mahjong by SI and Mahj for a Cause will donate 10% of proceeds from this mat to the Parkinson’s Foundation when customers use code BBC at checkout.

Pop was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease 16 years ago and is now in the late stages of the disease. This design is a tribute to love, resilience, family, legacy, and the special places that remain with us throughout our lives.

The Material

SI Signature™ faux leather features a thin, flexible leatherette profile with a subtle grain texture, refined matte finish, and leather-look playing surface. The material is approximately 0.85mm thick and weighs 600 GSM, with a soft polyester knit backing that helps protect your table.

Please note that this is intentionally a thin leatherette mat—not a thick, padded, cushioned, or neoprene-style mat. The slim profile creates a sleek, streamlined tabletop appearance, but it may not be the right material for every player. Movement may vary depending on your table surface and personal style of play.

The Finish

The wipe-clean, mold- and mildew-resistant surface is designed for easy care. Its smooth matte finish allows tiles to move across the surface without the padded or cushioned feel of neoprene.

Storage

Your mat arrives rolled in a protective plastic sleeve. After unrolling, place it flat on a clean, smooth surface and allow time for the material to relax.

Do not fold, iron, steam, or expose the mat to high heat. Because this is a thin and flexible leatherette material, the way it rests or moves may vary depending on the surface underneath it.

This mat is made from a thin, approximately 0.85mm leatherette material. It does not have the thickness, weight, padding, cushioning, or rubber backing of a neoprene mat. The slim leatherette profile is not for everyone.

Customers who prefer a thicker, cushioned, or more stationary playing surface may prefer one of our 3MM neoprene mats instead.
